The film is based on the novel by Michael Crichton / Michael Crichton Man-computer / Terminal Man.In Los Angeles, the early 70s. computer programmer Harold Benson, taken by the police to the city hospital. He suffers from a brain disease that causes "eclipses" and aggressive behavior. Dr. John Ellis, the head of the team of neurosurgeons, describes Benson as an ideal candidate for an experimental procedure — introducing electrodes directly into the brain to control outbreaks of aggression. Dr. Janet Ross is not convinced that this procedure will work, but is blocked by other doctors. The operation is performed - electrodes are inserted into the brain. Benson deliberately causes seizures to get a discharge of blissful emotions, becoming an "electric addict." Soon Benson escapes from the clinic. What will end the hunt for the patient?
