This documentary was critically acclaimed for its professionalism. Berlin of the early 80s is shown so realistic that the viewer has the feeling of full-scale perception. Seeing the film, you can visit the city, which is no more, but all the events of life in it are carefully filmed and saved.
The brainchild of Mark Reader was honored with the highest award in Berliner. He literally did not part with the camera, and managed to capture many important moments, not only in historical terms.
Mark is from Manchester, but by chance settled in West Berlin. Then there was still a wall, which served as an obstacle between the two parts of the city, and the political situation remained quite shaky. Numerous protests of young people, riots for winning their own freedom, only a small piece of events touched upon in the picture. Mark gave the viewer the opportunity to become part of the night city. After all, the day runs very fast, and the dark time of day seems endless. The musical elite of that time appears in the film. Rebellious compositions, impetuous rhythm, a wave of euphoria from permissiveness, promiscuity in connections. And a portion of drugs that can distort reality beyond recognition
