The film takes place in South Africa, where several decades ago a campaign was launched to discriminate against a certain part of the population. Under President Nelson Mandela, a special state commission was set up with the goal of finding out whether a political prisoner could get an amnesty. However, it is not easy to make such a decision, because every detainee needs a detailed investigation, and this can take months or even years. For this reason, the commission tried to think through the criteria by which some prisoners would be given freedom, while others remained in prison. But is there any way to determine which crime deserves forgiveness, and what does not?
