London, 1941 year. German troops attack the whole world, hoping to gain absolute dominance. The capital of England was no exception - soldiers are struggling desperately, but everyone understands that nothing good will come of it. They will still have to surrender to the fascists by adopting their rules of the game. Realizing that it is necessary to take any actions, the government orders the Ministry of Information to staging a picture about the heroism of soldiers who have carried out the Dunkir operation. Thus, they hope to raise the fighting spirit of the soldiers and provoke them to great achievements.
The production is taken by a young screenwriter Catherine Kol, whose task is to bring the female opinion and kindness into the project. From the actors a gang of losers is assembled, including Ambrose Hillard, a narcissistic egoist chasing ladies' skirts. When the film began to take off, everyone realized that they were creating an idiotic movie that nobody would like and would certainly not inspire. But the sudden feelings between Katherine and Ambrose have made some corrections.
